The Board discussed Trustee reports and how the Board can report back on the work they perform in the provision of their elected duties. This includes actions such as attending school council meetings, participating in provincial committees and organizations to improve public education, and improving awareness of Division and Board goals, priorities, and outcomes.

The next item discussed was the bus driver shortage experienced by the Division. The discussion included current mediums used to advertise job opportunities, the process from the initial application to be a driver through all necessary training, which takes up to two months, and then the hours of employment and benefits for school bus drivers.

Safety Coordinator Kathleen Doucette provided a presentation on the 2021-22 school year's health and safety as well as an update on the health and safety goals for the 2022-23 school year.

The Board of Trustees approved the capital purchase of technology at the Learning Support Centre to replace technology that is reaching its end of life. The purchase also includes the update of the meeting space to accommodate the new system that is pared down from the current hardware to the proposed system, which is a decrease in the amount of technology in the meeting room.

Trustees approved the advocacy points as proposed by the Board advocacy committee.

The Board received and accepted the Finance report.

After a call for agenda items for the board meeting in October, the meeting was adjourned.
