Goals
All students will have a deep understanding of our Canadian history, including Indigenous cultures, perspectives, treaties and land agreements, the legacy of residential schools, and the contributions of Indigenous culture in shaping our Canadian identity.
This model will support all staff in meeting the TQS#5 through monthly professional development sessions designed to build the capacity of our teachers to accurately and confidently deliver Indigenous materials in their classrooms to move generations forward in creating a more inclusive Canada.
This model will allow Indigenous learners to see themselves reflected in the curriculum. Classroom content across subject areas from kindergarten to grade twelve will be respectful, authentic, and genuine, often including consultations with Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
